End of the new law, beginning of the new new.
I'm too raw. I'm one with everything that you let rule you.
I put the root down if it's giving me a skewed view,
And search for a perfect perch befitting of a guru.
The traveller. I go from heart to heart.
Reveal my truth and then depart.
The kid with two accents, impervious to psychoanalysis.
They simply won't stop having the mafia in providence.
How fucked up ah you?
My problems got problems.
My problems got problems ’til they’re gone.
“You can use *me* as a pawn!”
I'm fully stocked and prepared. I ain't dropping no freestyle.
Got a lock of your hair and witch doctors on speed dial.
I'm starting the pretrial with no hesitation.
Stepping to the bench with self-representation.
It's a nighttime drive through the mountains where I slalom the wildlife,
And hug each turn like a dying wife.
The white of my eyes are shining bright. My dear, don’t get caught in it.
Some are born to run, some just ain't as fortunate.
I hit the ground crawling talking gibberish. The highly functional fuck up.
Unconditional love bugs splattered across the front of my truck.
You know the rules but you don't know the law,
When your humor no longer works on the person who you played the joker for.
It’s such a crime because you devoted all that time to the punchline.
But you can't rush the long con (nor strong arm the sunshine.)
My problems got problems.
My problems got problems ’til they’re gone.
“Go on then!”

Sometimes you come across an artist that is compelled to do what they do.
I appreciate the musicality and the arrangement and the artistry of the songs. He sings and plays like his life depends on it. I appreciate the humanity of the lyrics… Like reading Tortilla Flats, or watching Nobody’s Fool.
Ceschi is a bright star. I’m glad he’s loose in the world. oldtruck

Absolutely love this record, and so happy Buck is back, but is it just me or does Buck’s voice sound totally different from his mid-2000s Talkin’ Honky era stuff? Like his voice is higher and smoother, I wasn’t even sure it was him. Is this a return to his really early straight hip-hop stuff, without the country and blues influences? misanthropologist
